Fighting against hackers is the leitmotiv of the recording industry and that the purpose of the DRM technology.

Indeed the Digital Rights Management is used to protect the copyright holders. But it's not only a copy protection.
Actually that technology offers to the recording industry several means : the users can only listen, they can download but only one time ... But as every informatic process, it would find (or has already) his hacker.

But for the rest of the world (that is to say people who aren't hackers) this technology change the music and video use.
And DRM opponents argue that the presence of DRM infringes private property rights and restricts a range of normal user activities. A DRM component would take control over the rest of the user's device which they rightfully own.
